Bunny Watching The Carrots Grow

Bunny Watching The Carrots Grow

Monkey and Bunny were eating one day
A bunch of bananas and carrot soufflé

They happily ate till they weren’t feeling skeeny
When suddenly – WHOMP! – there dropped a zucchini!

“What’s this?” wondered Bunny, while Monkey just shrugged
But then, from behind, they received Cubby’s hug.

“My friends,” Cubby said, “I’ve been thinking of food,
And I need your help, if you’re in the mood.”

“I wonder exactly just where these foods come from,
The carrots, zucchinis, bananas and then some!”

So daintily each one held out their good bounty
And starting with Monkey they each gave accounting.

“Bananas grow up in the branches in bunches.
They’re easy to pluck for quick snacks or big lunches!”

“These carrots,” said Bunny, “Were grown underground.
They came from the seeds that I planted around.”

“I see,” Cubby said, “And that brings me to mine.
Zucchinis grow up in-between and do fine!”

“They’re right near the ground, and not up in a tree.
They’re easy to pluck and to feed you and me.”

“How lovely!” said Bunny, “Indeed I’m amazed
How all of our food comes in such different ways.”

The friends held their long-shaped food items and nodded,
Then Cubby ate loudly while Monkey applauded.
